Woodville Warrior Update
24 Dec 2018 by Jim Plouffe
Hello Woodville Warriors family,
As we enjoy the holidays and prepare for 2019, I’d like to thank everyone in the club, and all the supporters of lacrosse who make the sport possible, for a great 2018.
We have had our AGM and attended the Lacrosse SA AGM – where Woodville cleaned up on all the important awards – and we are now looking forward to the next season.
As the Chair of the club, I wanted to share a bit of information with everyone before the new season begins.
I touch on the following in this message:
Team App
Committee
Positions Vacant
Junior Committee
Plans for 2019
The first bit of news is that I want to revive the use of Team App, a tool that I use as a busy father of three athletes. I find it easy to use and gives me reminders and updates on my phone. If you have Team App please at Woodville Lacrosse Club. If you don’t have the app, it’s free and safe and I think will make your life easier keeping track of training and news.
We want to make communication a priority this year, so all club members know what is going on and who they can talk to if they have questions or suggestions. Team App is going to help with this.
Our committee, listed below, is a refreshing combination of experienced and new, younger and older. I look forward to working with this group to deliver a winning season and set the club up for success in the years to come.

A major decision has been to form a Junior Warriors sub committee to organise and coordinate the junior competition. We see this as an essential group to not only build our junior player base but also provide parents the ability to get involved and feel at home at Woodville. The Junior committee will answer to the Club Committee and have a representative on the Club Committee
If anyone wants to get involved on this committee or helping out the juniors please get in touch with me or Chris McGirr.
To ensure we hit the season running, we are planning pre-season training and games (for both seniors and juniors). More news on this in the new year. However, one thing we really want to try is an “all in” series of games where anyone can come out and play some fun lacrosse – hopefully getting parents and new players involved so they have a better understanding of the game, or maybe even decide to play.
We will be in touch early in 2019. Until then, have a great holiday season and start to get ready for an amazing 2019.
Thanks,
Jim
